Rhinoplasty developments in the field have followed a similar course in facial rejuvenation and facelift surgery as well. Aesthetic surgery’s development in our country is a natural result of experience, education, and surgical knowledge passed down from generation to generation. Especially facial aesthetics in Ankara has become one of the academic and clinical centers of this process.
In our country, a period of awareness regarding rhinoplasty began, so to speak, in the 1990s. Aesthetic surgery practices that had previously progressed within limited circles and as closed trainings started to be shared more widely in this period among ear, nose and throat specialists and aesthetic surgeons .
Thanks to meetings and live surgical trainings held at leading universities, especially in Ankara and Istanbul, rhinoplasty and facial aesthetic surgeries have become scientific practices offered as a public service. In this process, although rhinoplasty in Ankara was not yet widely performed, the educational infrastructure developed rapidly.

During this period, the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic continued its pioneering role in aesthetic and functional nasal surgery. In 2004, when I started my residency at Hacettepe University, Hacettepe University ENT Clinic in Ankara had become an important center where resident physicians gained intensive experience both theoretically and practically when it came to rhinoplasty in Ankara. This environment provided a great advantage not only for rhinoplasty but also in terms of mastering facial anatomy and learning advanced surgical techniques.
Facial rejuvenation is not actually a single procedure. Sagging, wrinkles, volume loss, and skin fatigue that develop on the face over time are evaluated together and a plan is made accordingly. The aim is not to pull the face tight, but to provide a more rested, more vibrant, and natural appearance.
In some people, the problem is more about sagging. In this case, facelift or surgical procedures such as neck lift are needed. In others, skin quality has decreased and there is volume loss; in this case, non-surgical applications such as fillers, Botox, laser, PRP may be sufficient.
Most of the time, the best result is achieved by planning these methods together and individually. In other words, facial rejuvenation is not a ready-made procedure; it is a process designed according to the person’s face.
Facial rejuvenation methods are generally divided into two main groups:
Facelift (mini, full, midface, SMAS, deep plane)
Neck lift and double chin tightening
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
Brow lift and temple lift
These procedures are preferred in cases where sagging is pronounced and a permanent solution is desired.
Botox and filler applications
Skin rejuvenation lasers
PRP and mesotherapy
Radiofrequency and ultrasound technologies
Thread lift applications
These methods are mostly applied in early signs of aging, to improve skin quality and provide mild tightening.
In most patients, the most effective result is achieved by planning surgical and medical applications together. Thus, both the facial contours are tightened and the skin gains a more vibrant, smooth, and youthful appearance.
Facelift techniques applied in Ankara are planned according to the patient’s degree of aging, skin elasticity, and facial anatomy. The aim is to naturally tighten facial contours, eliminate sagging, and provide a younger expression. The facelift procedures we perform are listed as follows:
Mini Facelift: It is preferred in patients with mild to moderate sagging. With small incisions, the jawline and lower face are tightened, and the recovery time is short.
Full Facelift: It is applied for patients with advanced sagging. Comprehensive and long-lasting results are achieved by addressing the lower face, cheeks, and jawline together.
Midface Lift: It targets sagging and volume loss in the cheek area. The cheekbones become more prominent, and the midface is rejuvenated.
Surgical Facelift (SMAS): Not only the skin but also the deep muscles and connective tissues of the face are repositioned. Natural facial expressions are preserved and long-lasting results are achieved.
If when you look in the mirror your face appears more tired, sagging, or has lost volume, facial rejuvenation procedures may be suitable for you. Especially sagging in the cheeks, lack of definition in the jawline, formation of a double chin, hollows around the eyes, and loss of skin elasticity are among the most common signs.
If non-surgical procedures are no longer sufficient or if you want a more permanent and more noticeable tightening, surgical facial rejuvenation methods can be considered. In people with milder problems, quite successful results can be achieved with medical applications.
The most accurate decision is made after an examination in which your facial structure and needs are evaluated. Because facial rejuvenation is not a procedure applied in the same way to everyone; it is a process planned specifically for the individual.
