Smoking along with nasal surgery can cause you major problems in a few ways. We should not smoke because it is harmful to health, but if you are addicted and you have had nasal surgery, how will you manage this? Cigarette smoke, with its high heat, creates a cauterizing effect as it passes out through the areas where you had surgery. If you are going to smoke no matter what, we do not recommend it. But if you absolutely will smoke, before you do,
be sure to apply what we call rinsing and lubricating—the lubricating cream we drop into your nose. Make sure antibiotic creams are on the stitches and inside your nostrils, and if you absolutely will smoke, blow the smoke out of your mouth as much as possible. I mean, if a doctor is going to describe how to smoke, it would only be like this. We wish you all smoke-free, beautiful days in a way that prevents trouble from coming your way.
